Bank of Africa Ghana appoints Ellis Erasmus Katwebaze as Deputy Managing Director

 Bank of Africa Ghana Limited is pleased to announce the appointment of Mr. Ellis Erasmus Katwebaze as Deputy Managing Director, effective 19th August 2026.

Mr. Katwebaze’s appointment follows approval from the Central Bank, Local, and Group Boards of Bank of Africa.  He joins the leadership team with extensive experience in banking and financial services, bringing a strong track record of strategic leadership, risk management, operational excellence, and stakeholder management.

His appointment further strengthens the Bank’s executive leadership as it continues to pursue sustainable financial growth, deepen customer relationships and deliver innovative financial solutions to individuals, SMEs, Corporates and Institutions across Ghana.

Prior to his appointment, Mr. Katwebaze held positions of General Manager, Credit & Control at Bank of Africa Uganda and Tanzania where his functions included providing direction and oversight of Credit Analysis, to coherently manage credit risk underwriting and protect shareholder value, while supporting sustainable credit business growth that builds customer value and supports the overall aims of the Bank.

In his new role, Mr. Katwebaze will work closely with the Managing Director and the wider Executive Management Team to drive the Bank’s strategic priorities, strengthen business performance, enhance operational effectiveness and support the delivery of excellent service experience to customers.
