Mr. Abderrahmane BELBACHIR is a seasoned banker with more than 35 years of experience in banking and finance. His vast expertise includes business development, market strategy and expansion as well as risk management.
Prior to assuming office as Managing Director of Bank of Africa Ghana Ltd, he served as the Managing Director of Bank of Africa Rwanda for seven (7) years, during which period he spearheaded the transformation of the then Agaseke Micro Finance into a fully-fledged commercial bank.
He also championed the establishment of a banking college in Rwanda with the aim of providing the banking sector with qualified and well-trained professionals.
Mr. Belbachir's professional journey began at WAFA Bank in Morocco, where he moved from a Branch Director to a Regional Director.
Additionally, he served as the Network Director for Attijariwafa Bank, overseeing operations in Casablanca and France. His extensive experience also includes a three-year tenure as the North Africa Regional Director for Western Union.
He also held other significant positions such as General Manager of FONDEP Microcredit in Morocco, and the Managing Partner at Ikbal Finance in Morocco.
Mr. Abderrahmane BELBACHIR is fluent in French, English, and Arabic.
